The National Institute of Statistics and Censuses (INEC) presents the general results of the National Survey of Jobs in private establishments in the Services, Agriculture, Manufacturing, Construction, Commerce and Other sectors (the latter includes mining activities and quarries; Electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply; and Water supply; sewage treatment, waste management and remediation)

  The objective of this survey is to offer, to the Costa Rican society, regional statistical information on the characteristics of the jobs that are required in private establishments in the country dedicated to activities in the Services, Agriculture, Manufacturing, Construction, Commerce and Other sectors. sectors both to fill information gaps in this regard and to serve as an input for generating strategies and planning public and private policies.

  The topics that the survey deals with are: characteristics of the jobs that are in demand, vacant, trained and hired positions.

This document contains the generalities of the survey, the concepts used in its design, the methodological aspects, as well as the main results (at the national level and planning region) obtained during 2018 (Services sector), 2019 (Agricultural, Manufacturing and Construction) and 2021 (Commerce and Other sectors).
